Senior Program
The Senior Program includes all swimmers in grades 9-12
Senior
- This is the highest level within WAC and includes any athlete that wishes to train at a considerably higher level than their high school peers throughout the year. Athletes will be selected to participate in the Senior group based on personal goals that exceed the boundaries of the state of Ohio. Personal training habits and performance results will be considered. Training focuses on all aspects of swimming, and swimmer commitment levels reflect high goals set by the individual. Athletes considering the senior group should communicate their intent to Coach Calvin.
- Swimmers in the senior group will compete in all meets available to them. Swimmers will compete in local, state, regional, and national level competition.
High School 2
- The High School 2 group is a group set up for swimmers whose performance and training ability are that of the Senior Group, yet have other interests and obligations that prevent them from meeting the more ridgid standards of the Senior group. Swimmers will have attained the performance and training goals consistant with the goals of achieving the State HS Championships, as well as the Zone Sectional meet and higher competition.
- Swimmers in the High School 2 group will compete in all meets available to them. Swimmers will compete in local, state, regional, and national level competition, should they qualify.
High School
- The High School group is set up for swimmers who are grades 9-12 who wish to train and race outside the high school season. This group continues to emphasize stroke mechanics while building endurance and speed.
- This is a competitive level group and athletes are expected to compete regularly throughout the season and be available for all championship meets they qualify for.
Age Group Program
The Age Group Program includes swimmers grades 1-8
Gold 2
- Gold 2 is designed for swimmers who are between the ages of 12 and 14 who are capable of training at a higher level and competing at the junior olympic and zone level. Swimmers are selected for participation with this group based on training ability and competition results. This group continues its focus on the development of endurance and speed with continued emphasis on stroke technique. Training skills become very important as these swimmers are exposed to more intense training. This group adds focus to the importance of nutrition, goal setting, and dryland. Selection for this group is done through consideration from Coach Calvin
- This is a competitive level group and athletes are expected to compete throughout the season and be available for all championship meets they qualify for.
Gold 1
- Gold 1 is the competitive group for swimmers between the ages of 12 and 14. This group has a strong focus on refinement of stroke technique in the four strokes with a progressive emphasis on developing strong practice habits that will allow athletes to be successful as they improve within the sport.
- This is a competitive level group and athletes are expected to be competing in local competition in all events that they are developmentally ready for.
Silver 2
- Silver 2 is designed for swimmers between the ages of 10 and 12 who are capable of training at a higher level and competing at the junior olympic and zone level. Swimmers in this group have stroke technique that meets a standard which allows coaches to introduce drills and sets designed to improve their endurance, speed, and performance. Selection for this group is done through the consideration of the Silver 2 and head age group coach.
- This is a competitive level group and swimmers are expected to compete throughout the season and be available for all championship meets they qualify for.
Silver 1
- Silver 1 is the competitive group for swimmers between the ages of 10 and 12. This group has a strong focus on refinement of stroke technique in the four strokes with a progressive emphasis on developing strong practice habits that will allow athletes to be successful as they improve within the sport.
- This is a competitive level group and swimmers are expected to be competing in local competition in all events that they are developmentally ready for.
Bronze 2
- Bronze 2 is designed for swimmers between the ages of 6 and 10 who have shown a greater ability to follow set structure and instruction from the coaches. The purpose of this group is for swimmers to have fun and continue their work on stroke technique in the four competitive strokes, their corresponding starts, turns and finishes, all while having fun and exploring the sport. Performance at meets does not factor into the selection process.
- This is a competitive level group and swimmers are encouraged to compete in local competition and all championship meets that they qualify for.
Bronze 1
- Bronze 1 is designed for swimmers between the ages of 6 and 10. The purpose of the Bronze 1 group is to provide a fun environment where athletes refine their technique in the four competitive strokes, their corresponding starts, turns, and finishes, all while having fun and exploring the sport.
- This is a competitive level group, swimmers are encouraged to participate throughout the season in local competitions in events they are developmentally ready for. We understand that younger swimmers may be apprehensive about competitive environments.
WAC Waves
WAC Waves is a precompetitive group for swimmers in grades 1-8
WAC Waves
- The WAC Waves program is designed to develop swimmers' stroke technique in all four competitive strokes, while developing endurance up to the level where they can move to the corresponding competitive group within WAC. They will also be introduced or refine their ability with starts, turns, and finishes.
- The Waves program continues its training during the summer and competes in local competition. Each training block will conclude with a meet that members may sign up for.
Facility Locations
Westerville Aquatic Club has three pools and one gym which are utilized year round and seasonally. Click on the facility venue name for directions via Google Maps.
Short Course Pools
Pool Location: 230 S Otterbein Ave, Westerville, OH 43081
Description: The Westerville JC Pool is our main pool, it is an indoor 6 lane 25 yard pool. There is an additional outdoor pool which is a 7 lane, 25 meter pool that our groups utilize in the Summer and early Fall.

- State St to Heatherdown Dr, left on Club Dr, immediate right past the Honda car lot.
- Pool entrance is located at the rear of the building.
- ALL SWIM PARKING IS IN THE MAIN LOT. (see here for parking instructions)

Description: Oakstone Academy is host to our secondary year round pool, it is an indoor 5 lane, 25 meter pool.
Long Course Outdoor Pool
Pool Location: 148 Parkland Dr, Gahanna, OH 43230
Description: Gahanna Swimming Pool is an outdoor 9 lane 50 meter pool.
Gym
Facility Location: 8692 Olde Worthington Rd, Westerville, OH 43082
Description: Crossfit Polaris is a local crossfit gym owened by longtime WAC members Ryan and Amber Bosler. Crossfit Polaris is the home of the strength training for our program. We have partnered with Crossfit Polaris to further the development of our athletes and support lifelong heath and fitness.
